Activity description :

Come and discover the great taste of winter treats at Ferme Ouverte de Saint-Denis in our workshop room, transformed into a warm and lively Christmas decor. Once you've warmed up, you'll also discover a variety of workshops to keep you busy all afternoon!

A winter day at the Ferme Ouverte:

  • Farm market: sale of fruit & vegetables direct from producers and grocery products.
  • Gourmet corner: on-site sale of crêpes, hot Gally apple juice with cinnamon, hot chocolate, coffee and tea.

Continuous workshops (15min per workshop) from 12pm to 1pm, 2pm to 3:30pm and 4:30pm to 5:15pm.

  • Beeswax candle-making workshop
  • Wool braiding workshop. Children discover the world of wool, sheep and shepherds, and learn how to make a woollen accessory with the help of the workshop leader.
  • Introduction to knitting from age 7. Children take part in the creation of a very long scarf to keep our questing horse warm this winter.
  • Winter wonderland coloring (independent)

Workshop on reservation:

  • 45-minute "Wonder Bread" workshop at 11 a.m. or 3:30 p.m. During this activity, your child can discover the wonderful world of bread, a symbol of French gastronomy, and add a few winter flavors of their own! Children will learn everything from wheat seed to bread. Apprentice bakers will leave with their own bread to bake at home!
    BY RESERVATION: Book here.

And don't forget :

  • Animal care and feeding around 5:15pm. This is the perfect time to get up close and personal with the animals. No reservation required, no age limit.

Formulas :

Option 1: Gourmet bread workshop + continuous workshop. Book here.

Option 2: Continuous workshop only, booking on this page.

Participation in the workshop entitles you to visit the Saint-Denis Open Farm and its animals: horses, goats, sheep, pigs, rabbits, hens, guinea fowl and turkeys. At the Farm, you'll discover farming techniques of yesterday, today and tomorrow, with an exhibition of old tools and vintage videos filmed by the Kersanté family.
