Vegetables, soil and the job of a market gardener
This day is an opportunity to discover the techniques of yesterday, today and tomorrow, through fun workshops for children and guided tours for adults.
Our market gardeners will be on hand all day to pass on their passions through tours and workshops.
The day's program:
- At 10:45 and 14:00: Guided tour & demonstration in the fields
- Join our market gardeners in the fields to discover their passion and profession.
- An opportunity to exchange tips, tricks and expert techniques!
- 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.: Tours and hands-on workshops in the fields!
- For the whole family, a walk, sowing, mulching and much more!
- Become a market gardener for a hands-on activity.
- 3pm: From seed to plant
- Potting workshop for the whole family. Learn all about plants, their different parts, their needs and how to look after them.
- Each family leaves with a plant to care for.
- 10.15 am and 5.15 pm: animal care
- Close contact with the Farm's animals awakens the senses of young and old alike: you can enter one animal's enclosure and stroke another...
At 10.15am and 5.15pm, children help feed and care for the animals. It's an opportunity for them to understand their diet, animal production (milk and eggs) and animal life.
Continuous from 10am to 6pm:
- Big sale of local vegetables (to plant or eat)
- Tasting of vegetables in all their forms (raw, in soups or smoothies)
- Construction and discovery of the worm compost bin and earthworms
- Photo rally of farm tools
- Self-guided tour of the farm, its museum and animals
