2-day marquetry workshop in Albi (81)

Want to learn art marquetry? Come to Corinne's workshop in Albi. We'll take care of you for 2 days, so you can learn the basics and make your own unique piece.

What is wood marquetry? It's the art of creating a veneer from small pieces of wood cut to a design, then glued to a support.

Course (2 days - 7 hours per day) :

• First day: exercises to discover marquetry techniques and create your own design.
• Choice of wood veneers from over fifty species: walnut, ash, tulipwood, rosewood, sycamore, pear, plane, linden, boxwood, Macassar ebony... and stained woods for brighter colors.
• Learn how to use the scroll saw to cut out your shapes.
• Second day: assembly of parts cut the previous day, then gluing of parts under press, in veneer frames. Finish your creations with polyurethane varnish.
• At the end of the workshop, you'll leave with your 4 marquetry creations, which will make a 20x20cm picture, or 4 individual 10x10cm pieces.
