2-day carpet design workshop from A to Z in Nantes (44)

Activity description :

Come and try your hand at the latest DIY trend: tufting! It's the art of creating a rug using a wool gun. During this workshop, you'll complete all the steps required to create a 40 cm tufted piece in the shape of your choice (round, square or organic).

Workshop schedule (2 days) :

• Day 1:
  • Freehand drawing of the illustration on canvas. Prepare the drawing before the workshop. Don't hesitate to make a template beforehand if you're not comfortable with freehand drawing.
  • Choice of wool balls: 4 colors maximum from the selection available.
  • Tool presentation: tufting gun cut pile
  • Getting to grips with the tufting gun. Your instructor will be on hand to help you!
  • Glue your creation to give it time to dry before working on it the next day!
• Day 2:
  • Finishing touches to the back of the creation, then we'll tackle the shearing and sculpting of the shapes of your design to make them stand out and give them more depth.
