Activity description :

The Bergerie farm and its educational farm teams look forward to welcoming you to share moments of discovery.

Enjoy a breath of fresh air in the company of farm animals!

  • A true interpretation trail of the agricultural world, the circuit offers a free tour of the farm and its educational farm.
  • Explore the farm in a fun, informative and autonomous way, using educational tools adapted to all ages: reading tables, treasure hunts, educational panels and films.
  • Meet the farm's technicians and discover their passion through their activities and demonstration workshops (sorting yard, shearing platform, sensory area...). Guided tour every day at 2.30pm.
  • Get up close to our farm animals - sheep, cows, goats, horses, donkeys, pigs, rabbits and poultry - to observe, stroke and smell them... (meet the goats at 5pm).
  • Discover our historic site focused on sustainable development and agroecology.
  • Don't miss seeing the farm's newborn kids! Kids are born in spring, lambs from September to February. Calves and rabbits are available all year round.
  • The Arboretum and barefoot trail in the Montorgueil garden (open from April to the end of the All Saints' vacation period). Take advantage of your visit to the Bergerie Nationale to discover this area! With a focus on naturalist discoveries, the Montorgueil garden allows visitors to explore the historical and natural heritage - the true identity and richness of the site - through a barefoot trail on the theme of mulching.

With the Paris 2024 Olympic Games just a few months away, the educational farm offers a multitude of sporting activities to test your physical fitness in complete autonomy.

  • From 2pm to 4pm: a number of agri-olympic events in the middle of the animals and the farm, with your feet in the grass:
    • Swimming in the straw pool,
    • Hurdle jumping,
    • running,
    • Country golf,
    • Archery,
    • Dressage practice,
    • Long jump competition with farm animals,
    • Animal traction,
    • Volleyball... And much more!
  • And to round off the day...
    • From 2pm to 6pm: the barefoot trail in the Jardin de Montorgueil
    • Around 2.30pm: guided historical tour of the Bergerie (except Saturday and Sunday)
    • Around 4.30pm: the cows come in and are milked
    • Around 5pm: meet the goats
The Bergerie boutique is also open, offering souvenirs, toys, clothing and, of course, groceries. You can also buy food and drink at the Mérinos Café.

We spent a lovely day with our son and 3 of his friends to celebrate his 4th birthday - it was perfect! After picnicking at lunchtime and playing in the pretty Montorgueil garden, the children explored the sheepfold all afternoon: cuddling the animals, feeding the goats, watching the cows being milked, battling in the straw pool, jumping and discovering archery in the Olympic games area set up during the summer... At the end of the afternoon, we took advantage of the covered area with tables to bake the birthday cake and finish off with a session in the big sandpit! It was a fun-filled day that will leave us with many happy memories!
