Activity description :
Welcome to Bénédicte's workshop in Marseille for an introduction to modeling using the mixed clay technique, in which different colors of clay are mixed together to create the desired design and color scheme.
The clays used are fired at high temperature in an electric kiln, between 1250 and 1270°C.
Workshop schedule (2h30):
- Thanks to different techniques for mixing and beating different-colored clays, you'll be able to create a variety of pretty, graphic and random patterns, such as marbling.
- In 2h30, you'll have time to create one or more bowls, cups, mugs, plates, dishes, soap dishes...
- Bénédicte will then enamel your pieces with a transparent glaze.
- You'll be able to pick them up after about 1 month.
The aim of this workshop is not only to introduce you to a new manual and artistic practice, but also to give you a unique experience alongside a passionate craftswoman.
