Activity description :

More than just a simple baptism, the initiation jump is the first step towards PAC (Progression Accompagnée en Chute - Accompanied Progression in Skydiving) training, the aim of which is to enable you to acquire as quickly as possible all the autonomy you need to freefall on your own.

To prepare you for this, the PAC initiation jump takes place over a full day, at the end of which you make your first solo jump. You'll be fully involved in your jump, since the instructors will be present solely to guide you and ensure your safety during the jump.

Go to the Chéu jump base near Auxerre to receive all the instruction you need for your training. All our instructors are skydiving professionals, certified and qualified by the French Ministry of Youth and Sports, and have several thousand jumps to their credit. The team is led by Polo Grisoni, holder of 9 world skydiving records and 16 times French champion. The center is accredited by the French Ministry of Youth and Sports and the French Skydiving Federation, and is a member of the FEPP.

Course of your training day :

  • Welcome at the airfield by the team who will guide you throughout the day.
  • Throughout the day, theoretical training on the following subjects:
    • Familiarization with the equipment
    • Aircraft exits
    • Free-fall stability
    • Altitude management
    • Parachute opening
    • Piloting the canopy
    • Landing
    • Folding
  • You're equipped with a suit, helmet, goggles, altimeter and parachute. Then it's off for boarding and a 15-minute climb up to the 4,000-meter drop altitude.
  • Once you've reached the target altitude, you'll find yourself at the door of the plane, surrounded by your 2 instructors. It's time for the big jump, between 50 seconds and 1 minute of pure freefall at an average speed of 200 km/h! One instructor will stand in front of you, signalling any corrections to be made to your position, while the other stays at your side, holding on to your parachute harness to ensure your stability and safety.
  • At 1,500 meters, you release the parachute, check the opening and begin your descent: you'll then be able to enjoy an 8-minute canopy ride. After the adrenaline rush of freefall, this is the perfect opportunity to admire the scenery. You'll be guided back to the ground by radio.
  • Debriefing and analysis of your jump.

Please note that the weight limit for a jump is 91 kg with clothes and shoes on (check scales at reception).

You're in for an incredible experience! It'll give you a foretaste of what a full skydiving course can be like, enabling you to achieve complete autonomy.
