Where to go rafting around Annecy? Our guide to the best descents

Annecy is the ideal place for white-water sports enthusiasts and thrill-seekers.

Thanks to its protected areas and unique ecosystems, you can connect with the local flora and fauna during your descent. Without further ado, discover the not-to-be-missed spots around the Venice of the Alps!

Centron Gorge

This route is ideal for a first rafting experience! Although it starts gently, with an easy section to get used to the different manoeuvres, it gradually builds up in power. On the menu: rapids, big waves, lots of laughs and plenty of thrills!

Although the Centron Gorges course is accessible from the age of 8, provided you can swim, it's quite a sporty one and requires a minimum of physical fitness. The descent is 8 km long and takes around 2 hours. Playful and fun, it's an ideal rafting course for families, groups of friends, or even on the occasion of a bachelor party (EVG/EVJF).

Isère

The Isère is an ideal river for rafting! This descent starts gently, then speeds up as you cross the intense, sustained rapids of Aime. Over an 18 km course, you'll admire magnificent mountain scenery, in an unspoilt, wild and unique environment.

It's also possible to do just part of the route, over half a day. The adventure of rafting on the Isère is accessible to people aged 10 and over, provided they know how to swim! The spot is located 1h30 from Annecy, between Bourg St Maurice and Centron.

Le Doron de Bozel

The Doron de Bozel is made up of two successive descents of level 4: it's the ideal spot for sportsmen and thrill-seekers! One of the main tributaries of the Isère, the Doron de Bozel rises in the Parc National de la Vanoise, then flows into the Dorons de Champagny and Pralognan.

In the form of an interrupted rapid, this intense course shakes things up a lot, but also lets you discover a wild, wonderful nature full of surprises!

Dranse

Come and discover Dranse, a river in the French Alps, on a rafting trip near Thonon-les-Bains in Haute Savoie. A succession of tumultuous rapids is sure to thrill you. These white waters are perfect for intermediate to advanced rafters!

During your run, you'll discover superb Alpine landscapes that plunge you into the heart of wilderness. Panoramic views of the surrounding mountains will make your experience all the more magical!
