Activity description :

Discover a walnut grove in the Périgord Noir and make your own walnut oil. You'll discover authentic know-how and the entire process of making walnut shells into oil.

Course of the activity (2h):

  • Visit the walnut mill and learn about its history, walnut tree cultivation, walnut harvesting and processing. An initial tour of the mill will introduce you to the 3 stages of walnut oil production, punctuated by a tasting of the oils produced on site.
  • Then it's your turn to get involved! Guided by the miller, you'll crush the kernels using an authentic millstone over 200 years old; you'll control the heating of the paste, a crucial stage in obtaining an oil with character; and finally, you'll press the paste in a press dating back to the 1900s.
  • Finally, once your walnut oil has been extracted, you'll leave with your own bottle of walnut oil.

A unique experience that combines discovery, indulgence and authenticity!
