Come and discover La Rochelle and its surroundings as you've never seen them before. Accompanied by a passionate pilot, you'll be able to cruise between the islands, and take in the immensity of the ocean in front of you.
La Rochelle and the surrounding area: an idyllic setting to discover
The Baie de l'Aiguillon, the Pont de Ré rising 42m above the ocean, the Île d'Aix, the Yves nature reserve whose meadows form a natural mosaic, and of course the mythical Fort Boyard. A number of the region's must-see sites come into view, and are even more impressive when seen from above.
Course of the activity :
- Welcome and take-off from the airfield
- Flight of 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the option chosen
- Gentlelanding and debriefing with the pilot
Various options are available:
- Courçon Base (20 minutes): Departing from Courçon aerodrome, you'll fly over the countryside of the Rochelais region, taking in the city of La Rochelle as far as the eye can see.bridge, an architectural feat linking the island to La Rochelle, the Bay of Aiguillon, Fort Boyard in the distance, with the island of Aix in the foreground, and the islands of Oléron and Ré in the background. the bay of aiguillon, cradle of a preserved nature reserve
- La Baie Vendéenne (35 minutes): fly over the Baie de l'Aiguillon with the Pointe d'Arçay as far as the Sèvre Niortaise, admiring the 2 inlets bordering the Ile de Ré.
- Toujours Plus Fort (45 minutes): discover the Pont de Ré, the southern part of the town of Rochelle and its towers, the town of Angoulins with its carrelets, the beach at Châtelaillon and the Ile d'Aix, before arriving at the main point: Fort Boyard. After touring this mythical site, you'll return via the Yves nature reserve and Fort Enet.
- From the Pertuis to the Ile de Ré (45 minutes): you'll sail along the south coast towards the Whale Lighthouse, looking out over Les Sables-d'Olonne and the nature reserve between Ars-en-Ré and Les Portes-en-Ré. You'll also pass through St Martin and its Cité Vauban, and end up in La Rochelle and its towers.
- Ile de Ré and its nature reserve (60 minutes): Once in the air, you'll fly over the entire coast of La Rochelle, starting with the carrelets of the Angoulins peninsula before skirting the south coast of La Rochelle with its port and majestic towers. During your trip, you'll be able to admire the bridge linking the Ile de Ré to the mainland, not forgetting the nature reserve between Ars-en-Ré and Les Portes-en-Ré. Heading back towards La Rochelle, you'll leave behind St Martin and its Cité Vauban.
- Oléron, Vauban and Fort Boyard (1h45): You'll be able to discover and observe from the sky the best spots on the Ile d'Oléron and the Charente coast.Passing over Fort Boyard, the trip begins with a touch of nostalgia, before visiting the coast of Oléron and admiring the Chassiron lighthouse and the oyster beds of Marennes-Oléron. You'll also see the Corderie Royale in Rochefort, the small citadel of Brouage atand the Forts de l'Ile Madame and Lapointe.
It's a wonderful experience that lets you discover the region in a way you've never done before. It's also a great activity to give as a gift.
