Activity description :
Marion welcomes you to her workshop to introduce you to the art of leatherwork through a 100% DIY workshop, where you'll make leather coasters that you can personalize.
You'll work with vegetable-tanned leather, i.e. leather made rot-proof thanks to a subtle blend of water and plant-based tannin.
Course of the workshop (2h-2h30) :
- Discovery of the workshop and know-how
- Marion will introduce you to the different leathers, tools, their uses and how to use them properly.
- You'll choose your leather and finishes to personalize your set of coasters.
- Discover the basics of leatherworking with :
- Hand cutting with special tools
- Over-cutting with dies
- Preparation work
- Patina and finishing work on vegetable-tanned leather
- Each participant will leave with a set of 4 or 6 coasters, depending on the formula chosen.
A fun workshop accessible to all, to take your first steps in leatherwork.
