Introduction to mosaic workshop in Valenciennes (59)

Activity description :

Introduce yourself to mosaics in Cécile's workshop, located near the center of Valenciennes, and discover the basic techniques of mosaics by decorating a support to your taste using the many materials at your disposal. You'll be able to create a 10X10cm to 20X20cm painting for 3 hours, or a large painting or mirror for 6 hours.

Workshop schedule (3h to 6h):

• Welcome, discovery of different creations and associated materials.
• Choice of theme for the workshop: motif to be reproduced, animals, refined decoration, pixel art.
• Choice of support on which to create your mosaic: wood support with or without mirror, slate, frame.
• Choice of materials (glass, ceramic, marble) and colors.
• Get to grips with tools (different mosaic tongs) and size tesserae.
• Grouting (for small formats and one-day workshops only, as this requires waiting for glued pieces to dry beforehand).
