What is a microlight autogyro?

Like a helicopter, it's equipped with a rotor that enables it to hover. Its power and maneuverability also enable it to fly very fast, with impressive acceleration phases. On board, you'll feel just like in a helicopter, without the deafening noise! The cabin is open, allowing you to get as close as possible to the elements.

Introduction to gyrocopter piloting in Le Mans:

• You'll be welcomed on site by an instructor for a briefing on how the microlight works and its many specific features.
• You'll carry out all the checks required for a flight session, checking the ultralight's checklist.
• You'll board the gyrocopter after equipping yourself with the necessary flight equipment.
• Time for take-off! Your instructor gets you airborne and takes you to altitude. The acceleration is great and the view immediately impressive, thanks to the open cabin!
• You'll then take the controls for a series of turns, climbs and descents! You'll feel the impact of each of your movements on the control stick as you watch the microlight stall, gain altitude or even tack.
• You'll be linked to your pilot by a radio system. You'll be able to ask questions and listen to steering instructions.
• A smooth return to the ground! The instructor pilot will take care of this maneuver, which you can't do on your first flight. Then it's time for a debriefing and to ask all the questions that are still on your mind.
