Activity description :
Take part in the 2023 edition of the Autumn Festival at Les Clés de la Ferme in Chevannes and enjoy exceptional activities.
6€ for adults, free for children under 12.
The Autumn Festival will take place on Sunday, September 24 from 10am to 8pm.
Activities on offer:
- Animals : come and learn how to spin or make felts from sheep's wool, discover how to make cheese, watch dogs guide flocks of sheep and geese. Take a ride in a horse-drawn carriage, or discover how the rotovator's ancestor, the draught horse, worked the land! An educational mini-farm will be set up so that children can meet their favorite animals and learn about their basic needs.
- Artistic activities: draw light and shade with cyanotypes, try your hand at wood-cutting with chantournant, or make Landart-style country sculptures, paintings with natural pigments or pictures with wild brushes. Follow a storyteller into the woods to rediscover the wonderful world of wild trees and plants. The little ones can have their faces painted with farm animals or vegetables.
- Workshops : like our ancestors, learn how to preserve vegetables without electricity, build wicker baskets, prepare a washing powder with natural elements or make your own hydrolats. Have your garden tools or knives sharpened by a mobile knife sharpener, just as in the old days when they used to pass through villages (maximum 3 tools per person), and discover the work of the forge by observing the colors that metals take on according to temperature.
- Ecological and economical techniques: observe how water drains a plot of land and learn techniques for saving rainwater, make natural wax candles or bee wraps to cover your dishes instead of disposable cling film. Learn how to successfully graft fruit trees and reuse bulbs from one year to the next. Give pollinating insects a habitat worthy of the name, by building them suitable hotels! Train yourself to recognize wild and edible plants, reduce food waste and become an expert at composting.
Other activities and services are provided on site:
- Small snacks or big snacks: There's something for everyone this year, from sweet crêpes to hot dogs, cheese and charcuterie platters and Indian-style lentil dhal, lovingly and thoughtfully prepared by Clément, Maxence, Erwan, Ian and Karouna with ingredients from the farm. Taste beer, local wine and apple juice pressed on site with a mobile press.
- A farmers' market will allow you to stock up on good food: vegetables grown on site, cheeses, meats, fruit, honey...
There will also be plenty of children's entertainment to make it the perfect family day out.
