Coastal license in Aix-en-Provence (13)

Activity description :

We're waiting for you to take your coastal license! You'll meet at our premises in the heart of the magnificent city of Aix-en-Provence, before setting sail from the port of l'Estaque in Marseille.

The coastal license allows you to pilot a motorboat on the maritime domain, day and night, whatever the power of the vessel and within 6 miles of a shelter.

How does it work?

First, you'll take a theory course run by the school, followed by a theory exam, and then you'll have to pass a practical test, which is not an exam.

• Theory: group lessons on the school's premises in Aix-en-Provence, with a minimum effective duration of 5 hours. Beforehand, you will have access to an e-learning platform with video lessons and tests to prepare you for the exam.
• Theoretical exam: Monday and Thursday in Marseille, 30-question MCQ on important points and best practices at sea: buoyage, lights and marks on ships, visual and audible signals on ships, safety rules on board, driving, steering, etc., 5 errors maximum, duration: 45 minutes.
• Practice: does not take the form of an exam, your approved trainer will validate all the knowledge acquired on your booklet as you go along, you will be at the helm of the training vessel for 2 hours, the vessel is located in Marseille ouest / port de l'Estaque

Formulas :

• Classic" coastal license: theoretical training on a choice of weekday or weekend dates and practical training during the week.
• Easy" coastal driving license: theory training on any weekday or Saturday and practical training on Saturday or Sunday.
• The "Quickly" coastal license: for those who want to pass their boating license quickly. The license is obtained in 3/4 days: theory training on Saturday, code test on the following Monday, practical training on Monday or Tuesday.

Inland water extension option: a complementary option to the coastal license. Once you've passed the coastal license exam, you can take this new exam. Theory takes place in the same way as for the coastal license, in group or individual lessons. The minimum effective duration is 6 hours. The theory test takes place on the 3rd Thursday of the month every 2 months, and there is no additional practice for the coastal license.
