Come and discover just how far caving exploration can go on an all-day outing with friends!
Guided tour - 10h - Difficult level
The Gouffre de George, just outside Auzat, lies beneath Mont Béas in the heart of the Ariege Pyrenees. You can explore almost 4km of galleries at a depth of over 720 metres. A unique experience! Along the way, you'll encounter numerous shafts, underground rivers and even a 400-metre-deep siphon. You'll even be lucky enough to discover a rare rock from the earth's mantle!
Your guide: you'll be accompanied by a state-certified instructor.
After an equipment session, you'll descend into the George chasm. You'll learn the various caving techniques as you go, while your guide explains the history of this unique site.
If you're a thrill-seeker and don't want to be just another caving enthusiast, this is the offer for you. This chasm is known the world over and was even explored in 2018 by an international team of researchers to discover how the Pyrenees and the European continent were formed.
