Activity description :

Come and enjoy a sporting day out on the Cap Canaille cliffs between Cassis and La Ciotat. The omnipresent sea view will add a spectacular touch to the adventure during a memorable day of rock climbing and hiking. You'll spend a day climbing in a magnificent setting, surrounded by a professional guide.

Course of the Cap Canaille activity:

  • You meet your guide to begin the hike.
  • You'll start with an 80-metre-plus abseiling descent to reach the middle ridge of Cap Canaille.
  • You'll then have to hike along these cliffs to reach a narrow passage that allows you to climb easily back up to the impressive overhangs below the Sémaphore.
  • If you have a lunch break, plan your bivouac beforehand!
  • You'll then make a second abseiling descent to reach the "traversées des immortelles". This vertiginous path through the rocks will take you back up to the summit via a few climbing steps.

This route requires no special climbing skills, and you'll be taught the necessary techniques as you go along. So you don't need to be an experienced climber: you just need to be in good physical condition.
