Boating license in Bordeaux (33)

Activity description :

The school team invites you to its center near Bordeaux to take your boating license! First you'll take the theory course, then the practical part on a Bénéteau Antares 600.

The coastal license allows you to pilot a motorized pleasure boat on the sea, day and night, whatever the boat's power and within 6 miles of a shelter. The river license allows you to navigate on rivers, open lakes, canals and locks.

How does it work?

Fill in the registration forms , then complete your file and book your course dates. You'll then study at home using the online learning pack, and attend theory classes in the branch. After that, you'll pass your code and go on to validate your practical training. The coastal license takes place over several days. At its best, it can take place over 4 days or more than a month, depending on your pace and the time slots available.

Sessions :

• Classes - 6h30: sessions on 3 consecutive weekday evenings, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (6pm-8pm) or Saturday (8.30am-3.30pm).
• Exam - 30min: code test organized by Affaires Maritimes d'Arcachon, to be held at the Salle des fêtes de Cazaux, 33260 La Teste-de-Buch. This is a 30-question MCQ test, with 5 errors allowed.
• Practical - 4h: takes place in the heart of Bordeaux on the Garonne River. You will leave on the boat at Place Aristide Briand, 33310 Lormont. You'll be trained in drills and proper maneuvers.

• Premium : coastal license, 6h30 theory course, administrative management, free access to mock exams, 4-hour navigation included at Bordeaux Centre, 2-hour navigation on the Arcachon basin.
• Prestige: coastal license, 6h30 theory course, administrative management, free access to mock exams, 4-hour navigation included at Bordeaux Centre, full-day navigation on the Arcachon Basin, simulated sea outing, meal at an oyster farmer's, educational pack or river license extension.
