Activity description :

Have you had the soul of a captain since you were a child, and do you dream of sailing the waves? Then come and take your boating license with François and his team in Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat, not far from Limoges. You'll learn to sail with an experienced instructor.

How does it work?

Your course will take place over two non-consecutive days, the first of which will be devoted to theory and the second to practice.

The first day of theory - Times: 8.30am, 12pm, 1pm, 5pm: 5 hours of theoretical training:

• Explanation of the maritime or river code during the morning,
• You will learn to read a nautical chart, calculate variation, drift due to wind and current, compass course, true course, course over ground, dead reckoning...,
• You'll learn to identify lighthouses and calculate tides in relation to a main port using the twelfths rule,
• You'll also learn how to interpret a marine weather chart and the symbols used.

The second day of practice: a full day of practice on Lac de Vassivière supervised by an experienced state-certified instructor:

• Total practice time of 3h30, including 1h30 group practice and 2h individual practice,
• There will be 4 candidates on the boat to pass in succession.

It is possible to start the practical training before the theoretical training, but validation cannot take place until the latter has been passed. Seas, oceans, rivers... From now on, you'll be able to sail freely with family and friends!
