Beekeeping initiation day at Chaume-en-Brie (77)

Activity description :

For one day, immerse yourself in the fascinating world of bees, alongside Mathieu, a passionate expert who will share with you the secrets of his profession. A unique adventure awaits you, combining discovery, learning and wonder at the heart of the mysterious world of bees!

Course of the day (6h) :

Honey harvesting & extraction (9am - 12pm)

• Collection of honey supers and transport to the honey house
• Presentation of the honey house
• De-honeycombing of honey supers
• Extraction of honey into jars

Introduction to beekeeping (2pm - 5pm)

• Donning of outfits, lighting of smokers before entering the apiary
• Opening of several production hives, with the opportunity to handle frames with bees on them.
• End the visit with a presentation of a colony in a biodiversity hive (Kenyan hive).
• You'll leave with a 125g jar of honey.
