Come and discover kokedama, a traditional Japanese plant art, by taking part in a plant workshop!
Kokedamas are plants resting on a ball of moss. On the one hand, there's the suspended kokedama (with a wire), and on the other, the supported kokedama (placed on a tray).
For a hanging kokedama, choose these plants:
For a kokedama on a stand, choose from the following plants:
During a kokedama workshop, you'll learn how to create a substrate for your plant usingakadama (a red granular clay), ketoh (a natural black clay) and sphagnum moss (a member of the Sphagnaceae family).
The clay is modelled around the roots before being coated with moss. The moss is then secured with threads. The texture obtained by mixing these ingredients should be fibrous and sticky.
Kokedama is very easy to care for: you won't need to water it more than once or twice a month at room temperature. Use a fine-spouted watering can to pour the liquid gently, without breaking the foam sphere.
